Privacy Policy

The short version: your images never leave your device, we collect no personal data, and the only thing stored on your device is a theme preference.

Overview

PixelCrop is a free, browser-based image crop tool with a simple privacy stance: it does not collect your images, and it does not collect your personal data. Everything you do with an image in PixelCrop happens on your own device. This page explains, in plain language, what that means and the few technical details you should know about.

Your images never leave your device

PixelCrop runs entirely in your browser. When you open an image, it is decoded and rendered with the browser's Canvas API on your own device. Cropping, rotation, zoom, the smart crop suggestion and exporting all happen locally — this website has no upload endpoint and performs no server-side image processing of any kind.

Because processing is local, your image is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. The image exists in your browser's memory while you work on it and is released when you close the tab. Nothing is stored after you leave: no server copies, no cloud cache, no backups. We could not look at your images even if we wanted to, because they never reach a server.

Information we do not collect

The site is designed so that there is very little to collect. Specifically, PixelCrop has:

  • No accounts and no sign-up of any kind.
  • No names, email addresses or other personal details — unless you choose to email us yourself.
  • No analytics, no tracking cookies and no fingerprinting.
  • No advertising and no ad networks.
  • No third-party scripts, fonts or trackers of any kind.

We do not know who you are when you use the tool, and the site is built so that we cannot find out.

Local storage

The single item PixelCrop stores is your color theme preference, saved in your browser's localStorage under the key pc-theme. It holds one short value — light or dark — and it never leaves your browser. No images, no identifiers and no other data are written to local storage.

If you want to remove it, clear site data for pixelcrop.pages.dev in your browser settings (usually found under privacy, site data or cookies settings), and the preference will simply reset to your system default the next time you visit.

Hosting and server logs

This site is delivered as static files through Cloudflare Pages, a hosting service operated by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare automatically processes standard technical request logs — for example IP addresses, timestamps and requested URLs — for security and operational purposes. Those logs are governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy, not by this one.

PixelCrop does not control, view or use that data. The project has no analytics dashboards, receives no reports about individual visitors and makes no decisions based on browsing behavior.

If you contact us

If you send us an email, we receive what you choose to send — typically your message and the sender address. That content is used only to read your message and reply to it. We do not add you to any list, share your message with anyone or use it for any other purpose.

Children's privacy

PixelCrop is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children or adults — because no personal information is collected at all. The site involves no accounts, and its only communication channel is voluntary email.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date at the top. Because the site collects no data, such changes are expected to be rare — but if the architecture ever changes, this page is where it will be documented.

Contact

If you have a question about this policy or about how the site handles — or does not handle — data, write to hello@pixelcrop.site or use the options on the contact page.
