About PixelCrop

A free, independent, privacy-first image crop tool that runs entirely in your browser — no accounts, no uploads, no tracking.

What PixelCrop is

PixelCrop is an independent, free web tool for cropping images. Open the page, drop in a photo, frame it precisely and download the result — without creating an account, installing software or handing your files to a server.

The project is built on a simple belief: a tool that touches your photos should not require uploading them. Many online editors process images in the cloud, which means your files travel across the internet and end up on somebody else's machine. PixelCrop turns that model around — every operation happens on your own device, so privacy is a property of the architecture rather than a promise in a policy.

We also believe one well-crafted tool beats many mediocre ones. Instead of a sprawling suite of half-finished editors, PixelCrop focuses on a single, carefully made crop tool with smart suggestions, precise manual controls and clean exports — and adds more only when they genuinely earn their place.

Privacy-first by design

Image processing in PixelCrop is built entirely on browser-side Canvas technology. Your image is decoded, analyzed, cropped and exported locally on your device. There is no upload endpoint on this website and no server-side image processing of any kind — privacy by design, not by policy.

That also means there is nothing to clean up afterwards. Close the tab and the image you were working on is gone from memory. Nothing is cached on a server, nothing is queued for later, and nothing can leak, because nothing was ever sent.

Honest about AI

The smart crop suggestion is powered by classic image analysis, not machine learning. The tool measures edge and detail energy across your image — a well-established technique that highlights visually busy regions — and proposes a crop area centered on the most active part of the picture. The computation runs on your device in milliseconds, and we describe it exactly that way.

You always keep manual control. The suggestion is a starting point you can accept, adjust or ignore: drag the crop box, lock an aspect ratio, zoom and rotate until the framing is exactly right. The analysis proposes; you decide.

How PixelCrop stays free

There are no accounts to maintain, no ads to serve and no tracking scripts to pay for. The site is a collection of static files delivered through Cloudflare Pages, which keeps hosting costs close to zero. That is the whole model: a lightweight, useful tool that stays free because it stays small.

What comes next

More browser-based image tools are planned. Each will appear on the All Tools page and in Categories only once it genuinely works — no placeholders, no dead links, no "coming soon" pages. If you have an idea or a request, you can send it through the contact page.
